How to disable compatibility mode

Using the file Properties dialog

  1. Open the File Explorer (explorer.exe)
  2. Right click on the program/.exe that you want to disable the compatibility mode
  3. Click on Properties
  4. Click on the Compatibility tab
  5. Uncheck the [ ] Run this program in compatibility checkbox
  6. Click OK

Using the Registry

  1. Open regedit.exe
  2. Go to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers key
  3. Remove all entries with SmartFTP.exe
