SmartFTP Crashing upon download

Hi, just recently smartftp client has been crashing when downloading anything (SmartFTP client has stopped working). I've also noticed it only occurs when using the download button (arrow) in the middle or drag and drop. I can use 'Download' or 'Download To' fine, I can also edit from remote server fine. Uploading is not an issue.

I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, closing all apps including antivirus etc and reinstalling, to no avail.

Microsoft Windows 7: Service Pack 1 (Build 7601) 64bit
SmartFTP Version: 4.0.1209.0

Any help would be appreciated.

Install the latest version from here:
https://www.smartftp.com/download/

Then post the system information from the menu: Help->About "System Information" dialog.

It seems that deleting the registry key as described in this kb article "fixed" the problem:

Unfortunately the problem has returned so I'm thinking it coud b due to a 3rd party application, is there a list of know apps that may conflict or cause problems?
