Key license issue

I've used smart ftp for quite a while.I had work done on my computer and now it says my "trial" version is used up. So I purchased the premium addition. I received the key. When I click the button on smart ftp (the one that said my trail was up) that say enter key, it wants a file, which I go to the file downloaded once I purchased it. It immediately says "Failed".

Help, this is driving me crazy.

Please install the latest version of SmartFTP from here:
https://www.smartftp.com/download/

Then activate SmartFTP with the "automatic license key setup". You can get the link to this license key setup setup from the license key email sent to you.
