550 Read-only file system log entry

I am unable to delete anything on my web server using Smart FTP v3.0 - everytime I try to delete a file the log displays IN RED - 550 Read-only file system

Every file and folder seems to have inherited this problem - no problem encountered before purchasing/installing v3.0!!
