Manual download fails - but gives Retry At or Finished

I am trying to download a few files (.txt or .jpg) from a (remote) server to my (local) laptop. It doesn't matter whether I select a single file or multiple files and then:

(1) drag and drop to a local folder

(2) drag and drop to the transfer queue

(3) use the Download arrow on the central pillar.

The Status shows a very brief "Connecting" and then "Retry at" <1 min later than the immediate preceding attempt>.

Also, a "Snooze" icon appears at the left hand side of the filename(s) in the transfer queue.

Nothing gets downloaded, even though occasionally the Status bypasses the "Retry at" and instead claims "Finished".

I have been experiencing this same problem with several builds. I have just installed the latest version (3.0.1021.7) and the same thing happens.

Yours perplexed and frustrated.

P.S. Pressing the F8 key on a highlighted file on the remote server used to (helpfully) open that file immediately in Notepad. This behaviour has recently ceased and the F8 key now causes the file to be placed in the Transfer Queue ready for download where its contents can only be viewed once it has been downloaded. Of course, I cannot download it/them ! Please help.

Post the log from the file in the transfer queue. To get the double click on the file in the transfer queue window (bottom window). The log dialog opens. Copy&paste the log here.

Here is the log I think you want. This file showed as Finished (in fact the streaming log showed the "Transfer Complete" message).

This doesn't look like the complete log. Please send the complete log.

Also please post the system information from the menu: Help->About "System Information"

[[SYSINFO][/SYSINFO]][[/[SYSINFO][/SYSINFO]]]I have just tried to download 2 files. The "Scheduler" symbol appeared at the left of the filenames during Status "Connecting" before Status claimed "Finished".

Between the 2 dashed lines is the entire log generated by double clicking on the first of the two files.

Do you have the problem with every server? e.g. can you try to download something from ftp.smartftp.com (anonymous) and then post the log here?

Yes, I use Skype - but not at home on this laptop.

I would prefer to send you a new dll (by email) which includes additional logging information. It's more efficient to communicate through email (than the forum) in my opinion.

No problem. I already contact you by email and sent you a new version of the sfTransferQueue.dll. Whenever you have the time please test it.

Also if possible please send (email) a screenshot of the transfer queue item properties dialog. To get the properties dialog, right click on the file in the transfer queue and select properties from the context menu. To create a screenshot please take a look at this article:
