I have run into an issue that happens when:
As stated, I cannot save the local file until I ensure that the file is not highlighted in SmartFTP, at which point it somehow has been deleted from the local location. As soon as I de-select the local in SmartFTP I can save the file (again, from Dreamweaver in this example).
- Upload a file (.html file in this case)
- Return to editing software (Dreamweaver CS3 in this case)
- Edit and try to save same file
- I receive an error saying access is denied from Dreamweaver
- Cannot save the file until I return to SmartFTP and make sure the local file is NOT SELECTED (highlighted)
- At this point, the local file had been deleted and no longer exists
- Re-save local file from within Dreamweaver
