uploading files not overwriting correctly

id 400019613

hi,

i have got a number of files that are in the queue to automatically upload daily, and everything has been working perfectly for months... however in the last few days i am finding that when the new files are uploaded they are not overwriting the files on the ftp server correctly....

in some example they dont update the file at all and in other examples, (text and csv) they have overwrite the file so the end result is i get a file that is made up of 2 versions?!

its all a bit bizarre.... i have tried unistalling and re installing to no avail.... i have tried not using the queue and dragging and dropping the new file into the location of the old file however it is not overwriting it.... any ideas.. system info below... thanks! Jonny

Hello ..

The log you posted shows one download. Can you please post the log where we can see the error?

Regards,
Mat

it gets more bizarre... i have just cleared the log... dragged the file to temporary queue, dragged the file to the server where i want it to go... and i have seen it in the transfer queue, status shows, connecting, then pre transfer then disappears within in seconds and nothing gets shown in the log....

what i have found out is that if i avoid the transfer queue and drap the file directly to the server it works... but this doesnt help me as i have it automated in the transfer queue....

jonny

p.s. i have since found out that if the file does not exist on the server it works perfectly and shows in log... but if the file exists its not overwriting and not showing in the log...

as i said its blank... except for

[11:12:00] NOOP
[11:12:00] 200 NOOP command successful.

read my p.s. on my last post too....

i'm with you hold on sorry

something to do with the timeout?!

Hello ..

I see no error in the log. The timeout is okay. The file has been uploaded sucessfully.

Regards,
Mat

typically this seems to have worked ok this time!

i will keep testing... i am noticing its getting to 97% every time and then timing out.... nothing to worry about?

in fact i think i know what this is.... i am have having problems with my internet connection at the moment...can i tell smartftp to ignore the rule of skipping of the file if it is newer?

Hello ..

You can change the rules in the favorite settings.
1. Menu: Favorites -> Edit Favorites
2. Locate Favorite
3. Right-click on it and select Properties
4. Go to Transfer -> File Exist
5. Click on Queue Rules

But I don't recommend to remove skip rule as it's very likely not causing the problem.

Mat
