Renewing License

I noticed in the licensing section of my SmartFTP program that the maintenance expires on 2/4/2007. I'm curious what this means. Do I have to buy a new license on that date? Or pay for another maintenance period?

Hello ..

You only have to renew your license if you want to use a version of SmartFTP which will be released after the expiration date of your maintenance. If you don't want to install such an update you don't have to do anything and the license itself never expires.

MB, thanks for the reply. Sorry, but I am unclear about what you said. So if I want to stay current with SMFTP I have to buy another license? So the license will never expire, but the maintenance will?

No, not a whole license, just a maintenance upgrade. This upgrade will entitle you to download and use the most recent versions of SmartFTP that are released while your maintenance period has not expired.
