still can't get connection, ftp server working

Hi

I keep getting this message when trying to log on to my site:

[11:57:00] Continue to login attempt 10...
[11:57:00] Resolving host name "ftp.urbanoutline.co.uk"
[11:57:00] Connecting to 66.98.206.44 Port: 21
[11:57:00] Connected to ftp.urbanoutline.co.uk.
[11:57:00] Cannot login waiting to retry (30s)...
[11:57:00] Server closed connection


I have contacted my provider, velnet and they say nothing is wrong with the server and they can log on with my password details.

I have windows security center firewall, updates and virus scan turned off as well as all the McAfee applications turned off as well.

Where I am going wrong?

Hello ..

The problem is very likely with a software firewall (Norton, McAfee, etc) installed on your computer. Add SmartFTP to the list of "allowed applications" in the firewall/AV software settings.
