err, what do you mean? the messages in the status bar are color-coded. errors are read, others are green or blue ...

other clients support color coded login messages (something like the codes used in irc) and i'd like to see smart support them too

ah, i guess what you mean is to support ANSI color codes contained in login messages, i.e. convert ANSI codes to color+ASCII. although i never encountered login messages that contain ANSI codes, that would definitely be a cool feature

Right click on the logview control and goto "View Mode" now you see default, script and ansi. script supports mirc color codes. hope that help.
