I'd like to have this option in the settings.

So everytime i open smartftp and it's already running, the existing smartftp will be just focused, instead of opening a new instance.

I concur. There should be an option in SmartFTP what would handle multiple instances of the program. Caleb's idea would be very suitable for the default handling of multiple instances of SmartFTP.
