here's my favourite wish for great features not yet existing in SFTP:
When I upload "large" files with option "copy & replace", this file won't be accessable during the whole upload time.
A good example is the MS Access database my website is based upon: during the whole upload-time my website isn't accessable at all
So what about the following option:
"Upload file with new filename. As soon as upload is finished, delete the old file and rename the new file with old file's name".
This would ensure that the (old) file is fully accessable during the whole upload time.
The process of deleting and renaming would surely take only a blink of an eye, so for me this would be quite perfect, wouldn't it?
What about this idea?
