Thunderbird conflict

When Thunderbird e-mail client and SmartFTP (latest Beta version)
are both minimized and Thundirbird is brought up... So will SmartFTP, but not visa versa.
Both in system tray, on XP
Interesting bug.

Hello ..

I'm unable to reproduce this. Tested with Thunderbird 2.0.0.6 and the latest version of SmartFTP.

Are you restoring Thunderbird from the systray or the task bar?

What theme are you using in SmartFTP?

Can you create a movie showing the problem?

Regards,
Mat

Yes TB is minimized in System tray using two ext's to do such... They are "minimize to tray" and "minimize to tray enhancer"
Smart FTP default theme, TB theme Pitch Dark.
TB Ver. 2.0.0.6 FTP Ver. 2.5.1006

This is the only Ver of Smart FTP that ever did it.
I will work on animation later and post a URL

Hello ..

The problem is as following:

1. Thunderbird restores the window and removes the systray icon on the MouseDown message.
2. The SmartFTP tray icon receives the MouseUp message because Thunderbird has it's icon removed in 1
3. SmartFTP restores the main window as well

Previously SmartFTP did restore the window on the MouseDown message as well. But we have changed this recently to avoid conflicts as above.
See: https://www.smartftp.com/forums/index.ph ... entry40653

Conclusion
In my opinion Thunderbird should remove the systray icon on the MouseUp message instead of the MouseDown message. You may want to report the problem to developer of the Thunderbird addon http://codefisher.org/projects/minimize ... y_enhancer.

Hello ...
After the review of the Mozilla "Minimize to Tray" Extension (http://minimizetotray.mozdev.org/) I realized that my previous analysis was wrong. The extension uses the correct event (EVENT_MOUSEUP_LEFT) to restore the window. However if you have the "Require a double click to restore from tray" option in the "Minimize to Tray" extension enabled SmartFTP receives a mouse up event and restores the window as well. I believe the double click should be avoided when the icon is removed from the systray as the next icon in the systray will receive the mouse down event. This is very likely not the intended behavior.
To workaround the problem, disable the "Require a double click to restore from tray" in the settings of the addon/extension in Thunderbird/FireFox (Menu: Tools->Add-ons). To restore the window use a single left click instead of a double click or you will end up with the same problem again.
Please let me know if this helps.
