Help please! "Established connection aborted by softwa

Hello

I'd be grateful for any suggestions on the following problem:

SmartFTP v1.5.990.2
Resolving host name ....
Connecting to .......
Connected to ......
An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine.
Server closed connection

I've just installed FTP and can't connect because of the above message. Does anyone know how to get around this please? I'm using Windows XP with no firewall as far as I know. We have two computers in our house networked together.

There must be one of these three problems, (if mine past experience is similar of your current) ...

Try these,

1). check the timeout value (which I think you must have)
2). Check that the firewall settings are whether allowing you to connect
3). If you are connecting through proxy, make sure you give it to SmartFTp too.
