unusual error

I have been downloading a 4.8GB file - everything was going fine until i logged on today and attempted to resume the file download - Smart FTP starts ok and the resume requester comes up and i answer yes to resume the download - the following line comes up:
150 Opening BINARY mode data connection for xxxxxx file (my x's)
4586184860 bytes
There is not enough space on the disk
ABOR
I have 2 60GB hard drives on my system and both report more than enough free space
can anyone help with this problem

Are you sure your FTP server supports big files (like 4.8 GB?). Some servers (like Serv-U) seem to be limited. Then, it is not so good to transfer 4.8 GB as one file: one error during upload/download and you can try again... Use a split software or a compression software supporting multi-volume.
