SmartFTP overwrites instead of resume existing file

Question:

Is it possible under any circumstances for SmartFTP to overwrite an existing file instead of resuming the download?

This has happened numerous times during download from a particularly slow and troublesome ftp site...

I am using 1.1.984.17, but the same symptoms have been exhibited in previous dev builds...

I have both the global and favorites settings set to "Resume" on download and have the site cache enabled.
