SmartFTP dies when downloading files w/ URLs in their names

I have version 1.1.984.15 and my SmartFTP dies very frequently when downloading files (also uploading sometimes) that have a URL in their name, such as www.smartftp.com . All it says is The operation completed successfully. That's it. Is this a bug or not?
