cant update my website

i have recently found problems when updating my website.
after clearing out all of my httpdocs folder to close the site down.the old web pages are remaining on the net.have contacted my hosts regarding this and they said it was due to my pc cache files.have since restarted my pc from scratch deleting all folders.my web site pages are still in my web space.my hosts saying my web space is blank.
whats going on.can anyone help me and give me the solution as to how to clear the 3 remaining web pages,so i can upload my new site.i have disabled cache on smart ftp since and did clear cache just in case.

Hi Phil Did you empty the cache on your computer though? in IE <Tools <Internet Options <General <Temporary Internet Files <Check delete all offline content <ok .. close your browser once you're done, and open it and surf to one of the pages - hit F5 on your browser to force it to refresh. That should do it...
