"Overwrite"-Option does not work

I've just downloaded SmartFTP v1.0.980

Go to Tools / Settings / Transfer / Files / On File Exists

If I choose "Overwrite" at e.i. "Upload" there won't be any change; there's still a popup dioalogue asking me what to do when uploading.

I use WinXP Pro.

Could you please check this?

I had that problem on mine as well, same OS as you, winxp pro. i was getting rather frustrated. I found that if i set all of the settings to overwrite, saved it, or hit ok or whatever, and then closed smartftp and reopened it, the automatic overwrite then worked. im sure you have probably figured this out already but this is just a reply for others who are looking for an answer and reading this. Hope this helps!

There's no bug with this option at all.

Change it under Settings. Click "OK" to save it. And then reconnect to the remote server.

You may also have to check the favorite item settings.

I didn't know about the "the favorite item settings" because I always used a very old version of smartftp ...

Now, it's working!!!
