SmartFTP and access via sftp

Hi,

I'm running SmartFTP on WinXP with Norton Internet Security 2004.

When trying to access a friend of mine's server I keep getting this message:

******* START MESSAGE ******
Resolving host name www.ogk.no...
Connecting to (www.xxx.yy) -> IP: xx.xx.xx.xx PORT: yyy
No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.
Cannot login waiting to retry (30s)...
******* STOP MESSAGE ******

I have set up an "allow rule" in my firewall to the given IP on the given port. I have similar rules to other FTP sites, but this one is the first I've tried that requires sftp.

I have an ADSL router, no proxy.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sincerely

SFTP is FTP over an SSH tunnel. This isn't currently implemented in SmartFTP. You can either use an onther program or use an ssh client to setup a tunnel. In the later case this result in telling SmartFTP you should connect to the localhost on a local port.
