html file corrupted when close SmartFTP

Hi,

I have an html file that is inexplicably being corrupted by the use of SmartFTP v.1.0.980.

When I close SmartFTP, the file changes from a 19kb html page to a 1kb file with the following in it, or some variation on the theme:
SCU$

Never encountered this.

1) Is there more than one file in the directory?
2) What's the name of the file that becomes corrupt?
3) Have I got this correct - you don't connect to anywhere, it's just browsing the local folder.
4) Is it on a local or network drive?
5) How up-to-date is your antivirus software?
6) Which version of SmartFTP are you using?
7) Does it happen whether or not you have an open Internet connection
8) Any other strangenesses happening?

Never encountered it before either, here's the details:

1) Yes - there's more than 1 file in the directory, html and other.
2) "clippings.html"
3) Yes - just browsing local folder, not logged into server. Not necessarily even browsing the folder containing the file.
4) SmartFTP installed on local computer, files on network drive
5) EZAntivirus, daily update, regular scan, clear.
6) SmartFTP v.1.0.980
7) Difficult to determine since connect to LAN via network. Incidentally, opening and closing SmartFTP while not on the network (and hence out of reach of the rogue file) does not result in an ensuing change in the file when the network is re-connected, the file must be accessible at the time of closing the program...
8) No. This occured since installing SmartFTP v.1.0.980, although:

I have just noticed that if I remove the file then SmartFTP creates a new (empty) one of that name when the program is opened and then puts the aforementioned characters in when it is closed.

Thanks for your response

It seems you have selected this .HTML as your "queue" file in SmartFTP.

Go to Global Queue and click on "Save As.." and save it to a file named Queue.que.

Thanks Mat - that is exactly what it was.

Fixed up.

Seriously impressed!

just out of curiosity: why did you guys select an html file as your queue? i mean, this is kind of a weird idea. and if something goes wrong, this would have been the first thing that i would have undone.

I suspect it was accidentally done and not realized at the time. (I was just called to locate and fix the problem - didn't witness the file being selected as the queue file).
