Queue.dat removal?

Is there a way to disable SmartFTP from placing a "queue.dat" file on my desktop everytime I run the program?

I'm all ears.

Anyone??

Save the queue to another directory and your trouble is fixed.

I have the same problem - going to Tools-->Settings-->General-->Data File Path and changing the location (to default, or anything else), doesn't fix the problem.

The problem began when I changed the locations to my deskop (I thought I only changed the default download location, but possibly the Data File Path) - changing both back to their default values stopped Favorites.dat, History.dat and 2 others from appearing on my desktop every run, but Queue.dat still appears every time for some reason. I just now upgraded to 980 and it still does it. :?:

Small annoyance that doesn't bug me much, but I was just wondering if anyone else has dealt with it.

You can use regedit to change at the registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareSmartFTPQueue the value of Last File by another directory.

Editing the registry can seriously damage your sanity - not to mention the correct operation of your computer. Do make sure you have proper backups of the registry and that you only edit the bits you mean to edit.

Please follow the instructions on this thread I pulled up from search.

After you have done that, just delete the queue.dat file.

Thank you! That fixed it! Took me forever to figure out how to get the Global Queue showing (I'd seen it once before but forgot how) - then I found the Transfers button and all was good. Thanks so much for the awesome software and quick response!!
