Make sure you have a least IE 6.x installed.

If this doesn't work the only solution I see is updating your OS to Windows XP.

meh

I don't know if it matters to your troubleshooting or not, but I -was- able to create certificates with the previous version. However, I was unable to get an SSL connection to AT&T Worldnet (as others apparently are also according to the note on the AT&T WURD page, which brought me here searching for an answer). But due to it not connecting, I deleted the certificates thinking perhaps they were invalid themselves and upgraded to the newer version SmartFTP.

Apparently, this version (v1.0.980) simply won't do it for 98SE.

As the info shows, IE 6.x is installed. XP isn't my answer as I only really need the SSL connection for this one connection, but thanks for looking at the problem.

I, too, cannot create the client certificate, even though I installed the
DSCLIENT.EXE on my WIN98SE system.
Please help.
