?force smartFTP to work at port x for use with firewall?

Hi,

I want to know how to config smartFTP to use specific ports (on my PC), so I can config my soft-firewall for them? I want to do this to get my system more closed and not having a lot ports opend.

Do I have to use the proxy settings? And which IP should I use? (127.0.0.1?)
If I do so...will only one port be enough or do I have to config more (for ssl etc.)?

Or is my idea of doing this completely useless in your eyes?

Control+O -> Connection -> Limit local port range.
