Local Browser and annoying delays

Hello,

Whenever my SmartFTP local browser window is open, it takes about 1-2 MINUTES to refresh itself after every action/event/click that I do inside that window. Here is an example:

I open SmartFTP.. takes about two minutes because the Local Browser is open from preivous run.

Once it opens, I will connect to my remote host, then I will attempt to select my local files/folders that I want to transfer, using the Local Browser. Every click takes about 1-2minutes to register/refresh. I click to open a folder (my documents), 1-2minutes. I click to open the next folder, 1-2minutes. etc.

Sometimes if I yell real loud, it doesn't hesitate.

I *feel* that it may have something to do with all of my network shares/mappings? We have a Linux/Samba server running on our local network and that is where most of the files live that I want to SmartFTP to/from. Three of these shares from this server are mapped as drives, X: Y: Z:.

I am running SmartFTP 1.0.979. I tried upgrading to the latest dev build, but found that threads were crashing in the middle of xfers. I am running WinXP SP1 and all the recent updates. AMD Athlon 900 with 256MB RAM.

This issue was not always there. It appeared about a month ago (long after I fell in love with SmartFTP ) I don't know what type of events or changes I may have done to the machine to cause this (I am a very active user/developer).

I can tell you that the local folder browser is not affected by this at all.

Thanks for your help,

-Scott

The problem is coming from a sharing/computer that is not available on the network.

This is why the problem just started happening.

I highlighted all of the connections in my Network Places and deleted them.. they reappear as I manually connect to the ones I need. And SmartFTP works like a champ again.. thanks!!!
