Question

First off, let me say this is my first time using an FTP. I'm trying to install Invision Power Forums on my site. It says create a directory. Does directory mean likea "folder", or a "page", or what? I tried a folder, and it didn't work. A page wouldn't work, I don't think. So what is a directory?
