'Keep Alive' Not Activating

Okay, so I'm running WinXP with a broadband connection via AOL, and am having a bit of a problem with Keep Alive.

See, it's not, you know, executing the commands. I have it set to NOOP every 50 seconds, and after 50 seconds....nothing. I tried letting a download run overnight, and what happens is I get a server timeout for inactivity, then a massive flood of NOOP commands in the log. Uhm, medic? :cry:

SmartFTP does not send "keep alive" commands during a file transfer.

So does that mean there's little point in using SmartFTP to download a big file, or is this something I need to discuss with the server admin?

Your best option will be to use the "Global Queue" to download large files.
This way if the file transfer gets interupted, it will auto retry and resume it.
