Crash with filenames containing blanks and hyphen

I encountered the following BUG:

SmartFTP crashes while transferring a file from a server to lokal harddisk.
I observed this issue being related to the filename (including " " and "-").
SmartFTP crashes e.g. with this filename:

Badminton-Spielregeln - Stand 14062003.pdf

After renaming the tranfer works and SmartFTP doesn't crash.

I could not crash it with the supplied info.
I tested it on a Windows/Unix type server.

One thing you did forgot to do is upgrade.
Please perform an upgrade and try again.

The new version does very likely fix your problem. The crash is not caused by the filename.

I just upgraded to the current version. The misbehaviour has disappeared.
What was the actual cause for the crash if it wasn't the filename?

This bug wasn't fixed from the version I had before 1.0.976.7 to the version 1.0.976.7. Therefore I assumed that it had not been discovered, yet.

We wouldn't have any clue. The build you were running was very old.
But thats in terms of development. After 976, there was also 978.
