On all of the connections I try, the connection is made OK, but the process just stops after the log comes up with "LIST -aL". No directory listing, no nothing...

I can't see a way of doing that, but I've disabled -a and -L, and both together, and still nothing happens after LIST.

The host site address is www.uk-dns.com, then I need to supply a pw to get at my site - but I get exactly the same with 2 other sites I upload to. It always stops at the LIST. And only in the last 2-3 days. I CAN upload OK to dns using another program supplied by the host site.
It may be relevant that I acquired the Blaster and Welchia worms last week, since eradicated.

It worked when I enabled PASV!
Just for the future, why should that happen? - since I had not disabled PASV previously (in fact, I wasn't aware of its existence).
