502 Command 'REST' not implemented

Everytime I try to CHMOD one of my files to either 0666, 0777, or 0755, I get this error message:502 Command 'REST' not implemented. Does anybody know why? I'm trying to install Invision Board Forums for my site. Thank you for your help

The server has disabled the REST command. But that don't has nothing to do with chmod.
