SmartFTP always checks my A: Drive on opening

I had to access my A: Drive once while using SmartFTP..

Ever since that day.. Every time I open SmartFTP it always try's to access my A: Drive on the Local Browser 1

I have to hit cancel on that drive letter to get to the actually C: Drive directory structure it was set on the last time I closed the program.

It's been like that for more than a month.. No matter what drive and directory structure the Local Browser is on when I exit SmartFTP.. It always try's to access the A: Drive the next time I open SmartFTP.

It's a known problem. We have no solution for it. Sorry.

Yes, it's pretty well been around as long as SmartFTP

Are you saying that it attempts to access a: upon opening the local browser, or upon opening SmartFTP. If it's when you are opening the local browser, then there's probably no solution

However, if it is when you open SmartFTP and leave the local browser open before closing SmartFTP the last time, you simply have to remember to close the local browser every time before you close SmartFTP.

If neither of these works, try re-installing SmartFTP. That often seems to curb the problem for a while

No solution for the problem?

 Hmm.. How about instead of having to hit cancel.. It automatically cancels? That would be cool...

hello @all,

is it a SmartFTP problem? Or do you have some other software running as well?

i am asking, as i know that the very same problem is caused when you have AntiVir Personal Edition running: there it is the AVGuard that tries to access the a: drive in the most varied occasions - mostly when opening an Office program, but with many other programs it has been reported as well!

if it is a SmartFTP specific problem: it is an AntiVir one as well - might there be some conflict in the interface with Windows?

csant :?
