update error

hi, i've a french translated version of smartFTP v1.0 Build 971

I can't update the soft by the update function :

when i click on update smartFTP :
i've a window :
installed version : 1.0.971
last version : 1.0.973

i click on "update" -> an alert message "do u want to update smartFTP ?"
-->YES
another UK(not french) window appeared : "do u want to update smartFTP v1.0.971 ? "
-->YES

an alert message : "smartFTP has successfully been updated to version 1.0.9.71 " lol

Is the online update working ?

try to delete your ie cache and try again.

First check if this is a bug with what SmartFTP is reporting, or a bug with the actual update tool. Go to your SmartFTP programs directory (by default c:program filessmartftp) right click smartftp.exe and click properties, and click the version tab. If the version says 971, the update tool is buggy. If it's newer, then it's simply a problem with what SmartFTP is reporting the version as after the update.

I don't think I've ever got the update tool to work. Uninstall SmartFTP, download the latest version (or developer build), and reinstall with the new installer.

Install SmartFTP from https://www.smartftp.com/download with the regular installation packages (Online or Full Setup).


epp_b: It's very likely because you never installed it with the regular MSI setups.
