Upgraded--now SmartFTP won't connect

Hi,
I've been using an old copy of SmartFTP successfully, and just upgraded. The upgrade seemed to carry over all my connection info, but since the upgrade SmartFTP no longer connects. It sounds like the same problem Magikal had (posted on 12/5/02, subject: upgraded now it wont connect HELP!!!). I upgraded to the "Developer Build", but no change. A copy of the log follows:

Resolving host name hammer.prohosting.com...
Connecting to (hammer.prohosting.com).
Unknown error.
Cannot login waiting to retry (30s)...

Connecting to (hammer.prohosting.com).
Unknown error.

Etc.

Please Help!

Unknown error = "Cannot resolve hostname"

the problem is with your dns.

I also discovered that I'm hitting a dns error when I try to view the website. Unfortunately, I don't know what to do about it. What can I do to resolve this error?

They are some of the hardest to troubleshoot. Why not try to ftp to the ip? The ip is the address number that your domain resolves to. It would look like this:
127.0.0.1

If you're on a virtual server, they will have the right way to ftp to your account with using a nameserver.
