Edit doesn't open text editor

The version I previously had installed was working fine, but I just installed 2.5.1006 and now when I right click on a remote file and Edit it downloads it and displays the Remote Edit dialog, but it doesn't open the file in the text editor. If I View or Open it still opens it in the text editor, but not for Edit anymore.

I am trying to edit the first or "splash" page that appears on my site, which is in Dreamweaver. I also go to edit and nothing happens, and then went to Tools and Settings to Remote Editor, and still cannot see how to find the file for that page and edit the text. I have a great zen cart and I attached images from my computer but when I try to enter the file name to attach the server picture to the product, it does not show the image. The file opens in the ftp client server to view but it is all just notepad codes, so I am having touble with both of these. Thanks
