Smart FTP stopped working

Not the first time this has happened...

I have been using Smart FTP since February. Occasionally it will crash or refuse connection to my host.

It doesn't have to do with any firewall settings, as I have listed Smart FTP as an exception in all necessary applications on my computer, all my other settings are the same as they always have been. I have run spyware and adware scans, and everything is clean. I am also using the latest version. It was working fine yesterday and today it is giving me this message:

It keeps going through this process over and over again, never connecting me to my host. I am preparing to build a charity website and really need to resolve this issue.

...and this process continues PRETTY MUCH indefinetly. I thought it was a problem with my FTP server at first, but I've contacted them and I'm able to login and use my admin functions through them, so there's really no reason I shouldn't be able to login through SmartFTP.

I'm also running a business's website here, so any help resolving this issue would be wonderful.

So I did some research after opening my big mouth earlier, and came up with the following... FYI, I'm assuming most people are using vDeck or some other FTP server owned by iPower... as that's who I use. They've put up the following:

"November 10, 2006 - 7:30 AM PST
IPOWER is currently a experiencing a network wide issue.

Due to this issue, some accounts may be experiencing interruptions in service.

We are working diligently to restore all services as quickly as possible.

IPOWER apologizes for any inconvenience you are experiencing. "

So there you go... guess that explains why EVERYBODY is having trouble today and nobody knows why... I had to go through quite a bit of trouble to find the location this message was posted at this morning. If your server provider isn't owned by iPower I don't know what to tell you, but if you use vDeck or someone else, then there's your explanation.

Anytime... we all have businesses to run, after-all.

I got the same thing from ipowerweb today, but then my other hosting account with godaddy didn't work either. I waited a while and then used another FTP program and connected to both without problems.

My SmartFTP is still not working.

Try to update SmartFTP to the last build on my signature.
