Please note that "331 User Dirtbiker326 OK" does not actually mean the the username is okay (i.e. existing). It only means that the transfer of the username went okay, so the server just acknowleges that you have entered a string. That said, it can very well be that you have misspelled the username while the password is correct (i.e. it would be for the correctly spelled user).
