WHAT IS GOING ON? :(

Hi, I'm a teacher trying.. key word... to post her grades online using smartftp. I thought I did everything correctly, but I still can't get the program to log into geocities. It says, "A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.
[18:08:49] Client closed the connection."
