Question from a complete newbie

Hi everyone

I am breaking new and exciting ground here in launching my first ever site. I have just gone through the SmartFTP tutorial and uploaded my first page. But, I didn't know where to load it so just placed it in a folder. Is there a particular folder for the Home page? I know, it's a daft question but thanks for your time and dying to hear the response.
