Receiving error, "sfFTPLib not licensed"

I am a personal user with a non-licensed version. I have tried re-installing SmartFTP with no avail.
I will always get this message:

SmartFTP v1.5.991.24
sfFTPLib not licensed.
Cannot login waiting to retry (30s)...

I own AVG Professional anti-virus scanner, which comes with a sort of spyware checker, I've checked the KB and searched the forums, but no mention of AVG issues, and if I read correctly any anti-virus software issues do not relate to this particular error.

What OS are you using?

This error will also show if you use a cracked version of the software.

Please install the latest version from:
https://www.smartftp.com/Products/SmartFTP/SFTPDev.exe

Windows XP Pro.

Unless a new version of SmartFTP was released in the past 5 minutes, I just installed the latest version.

Send the system info from the menu: help->about "System Information" dialog.

Hmm .. interesting ...

Go to the SmartFTP Client application folder and run
regsvr32.exe sfFTPLib.dll

Then try again.

same error:
sfFTPLib not licensed

This error occurs if the sfFTPLib.dll cannot verify the signature of SmartFTP.exe. This should not happen unless the SmartFTP.exe has been tempered. To verify this manually, right-click on the SmartFTP.exe, then select "Properties" and go to the "Digital Signatures" dialog. Select 'SmartFTP" from the "Signature List" and click on "Details". If the new dialog says "This digital signature is OK" then you know the file is digitally signed and verified.

Please try again with the latest version from:
https://www.smartftp.com/Products/SmartFTP/SFTPDev.exe

The version of the new sfFTPLib.dll is:
sfFTPLib.dll : 1.5.7.10

The digital signature was 'OK' according to the Digital Signature dialog box.

After installing the newest beta and trying again. It still says the digital signature is 'OK'

But oddly enough, it seems to be working fine now.

I will update this thread if the problem shows up again, thank you very much.
