Transfer Queue Dont

SmartFTP v2.0.1000
Source System: Windows XP Pro sp2
Target System: Running Linux and PureFTPD

Need to transfer folders daily. The contents of the folder change daily. The folders are named FTP - there are two - under two different site names.

Everything seems setup correctly, but nothing happens from either transfer I have scheduled - one for each folder.

I had been using DOS FTP with a script to transfer, my ISP recently changed the system and now require PASSIVE Mode - which is set. The Schedule is started, nothing happens - it just says Retry at xx:xx - in the transfer queue - and tries, but I do not see any errors.

Below is a log from one of the transfers. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Can you post the content of Transfer Queue.xml file from the %APPDATA%/SmartFTP/Client 2.0 folder? There should be no confidental information in this .xml file.

Thanks
-Mat

I guess, it looks like SmartFTP Transfer Queues are a one file to one file. Meaning, I can not figure out how to transfer a folder and its contents. Creates a real problem for me, since I have files that change with each day - the date of part of the name. I keep up to two weeks of files on the target system.

Any solutions, or workarounds?

SmartFTP is very well able to transfer any folders at a scheduled time including recurrence (e.g. every day at xx:yy). Please post the information requested if you should need any further support.

Thank you.

SmartFTP

Mat,
I was unable to find that file. I did a search of the entire source system.

(Geez, thanks for being around on such an important Holiday Weekend!)

I realize I must be doing something wrong. And not sure why my post did not go to Premium Support - I have 3 copies (one that is older, and two new ones today). Have used SmartFTP for years, just now need those scheduling features.

I am unable to get it to work unless I explicity give the name of the file on the source, and a path and name on the destination. I need to transfer the entire contents of a folder - and wildcards do not seem to be working for me.

Hello ..

Regarding the .xml file:
Enter %APPDATA%\SmartFTP\Client 2.0 into the Address bar of the Windows Explorer.

More testing reveals that source wildcard does not work, but target/destination wildcard does work.

Will do on the Premium Support. I imported the file - so not sure what ID it wants, the whole key file?

Here is the contents of the file (Sorry, not sure why search did not find it - guess it must be hidden?)

Yes wildcards do not work. Try to use the "Exclude" filters of the favorite item. You may need to setup a separate favorite item for this particular transfer.

The transfer from with wildcard to a specific name - works.
This one dont - but destination is a wildcard.

I guess I may end up having to create a folder for each day of the week, or more - that is a real bummer. Has destination wildcard been requested as a feature - that did work under DOS FTP.

Thanks again for the help.

Guess I am going to need to get a refund, I believe I have found a product that supports scheduled FTP transfers and wildcards.

Sorry. I've always liked SmartFTP.

Jim

How do I get a refund?

Hello ..

Our website clearly states that we do not give refunds. Please see
https://www.smartftp.com/buy.php

Also the latest version of SmartFTP supports "Include" filters which you can use to realize the wildcards:
https://www.smartftp.com/download
1. Create a new Favorite Item
2. Go to the Properties -> Transfer -> Filters. Select "Include" in the Type. Add the wildcards to the filter list.
3. Connect to the FTP server
4. Add the files/folders you want to schedule to the Transfer Queue
5. Start the Transfer Queue

Regards,
SmartFTP

Hello ..

The new "Include" filters are more powerful than a single wildcard in the path. You are able to specify multiple wildcards e.g. *.html and *.htm. Please let us know what other feature you are missing and we will try our best to implement it as soon as possible.

-Mat
