Queue Timer Doesn't Work

Hi,

I can load a directory into the global queue, open the queue timer, set a start date and time and click 'ok'

But absolutely nothing happens when the scheduled time/date arrives.

Any ideas why?

Thanks!

I have exactly the same problem. My boss wants to buy a few licences of SFTP, but will not unless this feature demonstrably works. What gives folks?

Probably because you did not press "play" on the queue toolbar to enabled queue processing?

eyebex:
The user was very likely referring to the Global Queue Timer. This one works without starting the Transfer Queue.

Are you using the latest version v2.0 1000.2? If not please install it from
https://www.smartftp.com/download

I'm using the latest version. First, I establish a connection to our server, then put the file I want to periodically and repeatedly download into the queue (as the only item). Then, I use the timer button on the queue window's toolbar. I set the timer up to download in about 60 seconds time. The timer expires and SFTP starts to download, but it doen't actually download any bytes at all, although it looks like it is about to. Have you tested this feature in the demo version yourselves? Perhaps the feature is crippled in the demo version (bad idea!).

If I download the file normally using the download button, it downloads fine.
I have installed the new version (v2.0.1002) as per another post but I can't get the timer to work. I place items into the temporary queue. I then drag the files to the destination folder. This moves the files to the transfer queue. I then choose the timer button and click enable on the start timer. I then set the time I want the transfer to begin. I then click on the enable recurrence and set the recurrence time. I then click the ok button. I then click the start button on the transfer queue and instead of the file transferring at the scheduled time, the transfer goes immediately and is removed from the transfer queue.

My understanding of how this should work is that the file should not be transferred until the scheduled time. I am not sure if the file should remain in the transfer queue or not if recurrence has been chosen. What am I missing? I am interested in purchasing some licenses for our School Board however this function is mandatory if we are to do this.

Also, what is the difference between the queue timer and the Global Queue timer?
