Problem with Global Queue

I've tried using the Global Queue option in so many different ways and yet whenever I press the "play" icon, nothing happens and the connection remains idle, even after a few hours of letting it alone. Here is some correspondence between a friend and I regarding troubleshooting the problem (the most recent dialogue is at the top, so you might want to start at the bottom):

SmartFTP is the best for windows that I know of when you finally figure it
out you'll see that it was really probably something so simple that we've
been doing wrong

I did the update earlier today. I'll try waiting 300 seconds before
starting the Global Queue. If you have suggestions for a better FTP
program, let me know.
