PROBLEM: Hidden files such as (.htaccess, etc) no longer visible in SmartFTP.

AND YES! I have set it properly with

Use Commands -> Connection -> List Options -> Show Hidden Files [-a]

I having been using SmartFtp for a while now without much trouble.

I just upgraded to th latest version of SmartFTP 1.0.979.7 and now I can't see any of my .htaccess or hidden files no matter what I do?

Is this a bug or is there a work around.

Other's have reported the same problem but there has been no solution proposed. I suppose we can go back to an earlier working version of SmartFTP but I would perfer not to.

Any ideas?

I orginally posted this in the "BUG" section of this forum and it was moved here by the website administrator without comment.

What are we to infer by this? This is not a bug?

As a beta tester for other software, this is the first instance I have experience where a software creator refuses to comment on a bug reported by numerous users.

Why is the last post in the "BUG" forum from August 2003?

Try adding the site to favorites.

Hidden files such as (.htaccess, etc) are visible in SmartFTP.
BTW update to the last development build before posting a bug.

It is a bug both in the 1.0.979 and 1.0.980 version that you've linked to above. SmartFTP refuses to honor the -a option for file listing. I have an older version on a home machine that works fine, but the version currently made available for public download is broken, along with the latest development version.

Adding the site to favorites does not solve the issue. It seems to persist regardless of the manner in which the site is accessed. I have tried a variety of ways without success.

I did check and ensure that the site itself was not at fault by using a CLI FTP client with 'ls -a'. That worked. It would seem that the original poster did in fact raise a legitimate bug.

For me works fine with the 980 build

I wonder if this is related to MLSD?

Hello ..

Disable "MLSD" in the Settings->Transfer. A MLSD command should show all files. Regardless of the MLSD arguments.

It's a bug in PureFTPd I've reported months ago but never got any answer.

I had the same problem on one server and not the other. I FINALLY found the solution thanks to you guys! Disabled MLSD and restarted the program and it worked! Thanks!

When 1st posted this "bug" i don't know that the issue was with the PureFTPd i tested this "bug" with my favorites, but because i don't have a PureFTPd on my favorites i can't seen that "bug". And my post about the files is from a previous date than the post of it's a PureFTPd server.

Mad: This is peer 2 peer forum. We (the SmartFTP group) don't take any responsibily for users posting comments here. And Aokromes is not a developer for SmartFTP and neither a part of the official technical support team.
