Upload speed still lacking behind command line FTP client

Hi there,

I'm lucky enough to have a rather fast connection in my office. I routinely get about 250Kb/sec when uploading CD images on our corporate network using the command line FTP client.

When using SmartFTP I only get around 105Kb/sec. This is after I upgraded to the latest version - the one I was using before (976) only got me to about 33Kb/sec.

This is a Windows XP system with all patches. I'd be happy to provide more information if needed.

Thanks,
Wolfgang.

Please always install the latest Development Build before reporting.

The Read Me instructs you to take the same action. (Saves Time).

Basically, what has changed in the latest dev. build, the (hard coded)
default "IO buffer size" has been incremented to 2kb for uploading.

Upload speed(s) that take place, should be increased overall.

Tried the development build. Same thing. Still only about 120K/sec upload.

Upload speeds are high in the megabit(s) range via internet.

...and on the LAN, speeds is breathe taking!

I cannot find a problem here. Can anyone else confirm this?

I get ~9 MB/s over my 100 mbps lan of upload speed.

I have the same problem. When I upload a file to a server with smartftp I get around 65kb/s, but with another client I get 90kb/s.

I had the same problem with a diffrent connection (isp) too.

Just came here for the same problem as well.

I should be getting around 300 kbps upload speed on my Road Runner connection, but it wont go any higher than 45 kbps when uploading through SmartFTP.

PLEASE HELP!
