How to disable SSL?

I care absolutely nothing for the SSL abilities of smartftp. It's slow, a pain in the ass, and I just generally do not like it being enabled. How do I turn it off?

I try setting Connection mode to "Clear Data Connection" but it keeps getting reset almost everytime I start smartftp.

I am uploading to another PC within the lan, and the upload using FlashFXP is ~3Mbytes/sec, and pretty constant(between 2.5 and 3.2), whereas SmartFTP is around 800K-1200K/sec.

I set the buffer size to 8192K, and I had read in another forum that SSL was the cause of this. I am using the latest dev build.

Upping the cache amount to 32000 K made it start out faster, but steadily drops to around 1MB/sec.

Oh, and while I'm at it, downloading from the LAN through smartftp is on par with the 'other' client.

While i'm at it, here's some useful information:

Set the IO buffer size to 256KB or 512KB. And make sure you have SSL disabled if you don't want to use it.

Setting it to 512 has limited my upload speed to 500-600K/sec. This is going through the *lan*, not the internet. It's acceptable on the net of course since I won't ever see that high.

*Watches as MS reads this forum and comes breaking down my door*

Okay, the FTPD that is being used is something that is included in the Evolution X software for the XBOX. To use it, you have to mod your xbox and then load the software.

Many people are having a very similar problem, FlashFXP seems to work quite well, though.

Some have fixed it with setting their I/O buffer *really* high, but it just does not seem to fix it for me. I assumed since FlashFXP works well, that it's something to do with SmartFTP.

Unfortunately I know you guys probably don't have the means to tesst this, but be sure I am contacting both sides of developers(Both the devs of Evolution X and you guys), since I enjoy both pieces of software.....and I just dont feel like paying $25 for FlashFXP, 'cause SmartFTP has been great up until now.

We have several testers using SmartFTP to upload their "stuff" to the XBOX and they all reported its faster than with flashfxp once they increased the IO buffer.

my problem was a limit on the upload speeds to my xbox. I downgraded to build 970 from a chinese website and it fixed my xbox upload problems immediately. I love SmartFTP and it's fast, but something changed after 970 that broke xbox upload speeds for me.

We're working on it.

I've sent you a private build to test the XBOX uploads.

Workaround is in next developer build.

Stay tuned.
